Resists corrosion and stays stable against moisture, making it the default for creams, balms, and oil-based fills. The trade-off is a higher per-unit cost than tinplate.
Is more rigid and generally more affordable for dry, solid, or lightweight goods like tea, candy, and cookies. The trade-off is lower corrosion resistance in humid or high-moisture environments.

DOLYPACK can decorate stock tin shapes or develop containers around a new custom die. Available options include embossing and debossing, laser marking, screen or full-color printing, labels, and finishes such as matte, glossy, frosted, metallic, lacquered, and anodized surfaces for aluminum.
Embossing results depend on the artwork, metal gauge, panel shape, lid or body construction, and seam placement. Bold logos and lettering usually reproduce more clearly than fine detail. For custom relief work, vector artwork in AI, EPS, or vector PDF format helps the tooling team check the design before the die is cut.
Tooling and pattern depth are quoted after reviewing the container drawing and artwork. See embossed tin tooling costs and materials for embossed tins for more detail, or tin case construction for container structures and applications.
DOLYPACK has supplied 441+ references to more than 80 countries over 10+ years in metal packaging. Applications include Candles, Coffee & Tea, Cosmetics, Food, Pet Products, and Pharmaceutical.
Each category has different fill, closure, and decoration needs. Cosmetics brands often choose aluminum for cream and balm formats, while wellness and pharmaceutical buyers use pill jars, powder jars, and fish oil containers for actives that need light protection.
Select a stock size and finish, or provide a drawing and vector artwork for something custom.
DOLYPACK reviews the container, decoration method, and finish, then quotes tooling, position, print alignment, pattern depth, and sample route based on that review.
There's no fixed minimum order quantity published up front. MOQ and production timing are confirmed once the tin, decoration, artwork, tooling, sample route, and order quantity are reviewed together.
For sourcing standard formats at case quantities, see wholesale tin sourcing. For naming and production details on round formats, see round tin box manufacturing. To move a project forward, request a quote with a sketch, reference SKU, or 3D file attached.
Choose the route that matches your sourcing needs:

See wholesale tin containers for a broader stock-vs-custom fork.

Whichever route fits your product, get in touch with your specs and DOLYPACK’s packaging team will confirm the right family and next steps.
