Sizes & Capacity Range

Corner radii and rolled edges reduce usable interior volume, so outer dimensions alone don’t confirm product fit — headspace and fill volume are checked against the drawing before a size is locked.

New sizes carry separate tooling from an existing-mold order.

Lid & Closure Options for Square Tins

Square 3-piece bodies typically pair with:

  • A removable slip lid
  • A hinged lid
  • A window lid with a clear panel
  • A click lid built on a matched aluminum body

Screw closures run on a corresponding threaded structure, not a standard slip-lid box. Thread engagement and torque fit are covered in the screw-top closure guide; see aluminum screw-lid jars for structures built on that closure. Lid choice is confirmed against the selected body and reviewed on a sample rather than assumed to fit every size.

Materials & Finishes

  • Materials

Tinplate is the default for decorative square boxes. Selected aluminum square structures are available for projects that need a lighter pack.

  • Finishes

Options include matte, glossy, frosted, metallic effect, lacquering, spot varnish, and anodizing on aluminum bodies. Final finishes are confirmed with the selected size and lid.

Custom

Custom Printing & Embossing on Flat Panels

Flat sides and lid tops hold CMYK or Pantone printing, laser marking, and embossing or debossing more reliably than a curved body, since there is no seam or curvature to break registration. Registration tolerance, minimum line width, and emboss/deboss depth are confirmed against the approved dieline and pattern for your metal gauge and structure.

Bold shapes and lettering reproduce more consistently than fine detail or hairline marks. Artwork should be supplied as vector files (AI, EPS, or vector PDF) sized to that dieline.

Custom Development & Ordering Process

  1. Submit the project files

Send a container drawing and vector artwork for review.

  2. Review and quotation

DOLYPACK confirms tooling, pattern depth, print alignment, and finish based on the submitted details.

  3. Approve a physical sample

A sample is produced and approved before full production begins.

  4. Confirm MOQ and timing

MOQ and lead time are set once the tin, decoration, and order quantity are confirmed. There is no fixed MOQ, tooling cost, or sample turnaround for every structure.

If you already have a drawing or reference sample, contact DOLYPACK to review the structure, or request an aluminum tin sample before ordering.

FAQ

What’s the MOQ for custom square tins?
MOQ isn’t fixed. It’s confirmed after DOLYPACK reviews the tin structure, decoration, and order quantity together, since a new mold and a stock structure carry different minimums.
How much does tooling cost and how long does it take?
Tooling cost and lead time are quoted only after the container drawing and artwork are reviewed, because both depend on pattern depth, lid structure, and finish selected.
When do samples arrive?
Sample timing depends on the tooling and decoration route chosen for your structure. DOLYPACK confirms it during the drawing and artwork review rather than quoting a standard turnaround upfront.
Are square tins food-contact compliant?
Interior finish and available material documentation are checked per selected structure and product type. Share your product, formula, and destination market when requesting a quote so the applicable finish can be confirmed.
