Tin Can Manufacturer — Custom Aluminum & Tinplate Packaging

A tin can manufacturer should cover both stock packaging and new tooling. DOLYPACK works with aluminum and tinplate jars, tins, and boxes from 5 ml to 6,000 ml, using existing molds for standard shapes and in-house tooling for custom containers.

Order Planning

MOQ, Tooling & Lead Times

MOQ, tooling cost, and production time are confirmed once the container drawing, decoration method, artwork, and order quantity are reviewed — they move together, not off a fixed price list.

Stock molds skip the tooling step entirely and move to production faster. A new die for a custom shape adds development time before production starts, which is worth it for a distinctive silhouette but unnecessary when an existing mold already fits the brief.

Food-contact documentation, where a product requires it, is confirmed per project during the same review rather than covered by one blanket certification across every line.

Design Options

Customization & Decoration

  • Embossing & debossing

Detail is limited by metal gauge and seam placement. Bolder shapes reproduce more reliably than fine line work, and aluminum takes embossing more cleanly than tinplate at the same gauge. Tooling cost increases with pattern depth and finish complexity.

  • Other decoration & finishes

Screen printing, laser marking, and matte, glossy, frosted, metallic, lacquered, and anodized finishes extend customization beyond embossing.

Sourcing & Quoting Process

A quote is built after reviewing the container drawing, decoration method, artwork, tooling requirement, and order quantity. Production route, print alignment, finish, and sample handling all get confirmed at that stage rather than off a generic price list.

FAQ

Can I get a custom tin can made?
Yes. Custom tooling and mold development are handled in-house, and final specs — size, decoration, and minimum order quantity — are quoted after your artwork and container drawing are reviewed.
How are MOQ, tooling cost, and shipping terms confirmed?
They’re set after the container drawing, decoration method, and order quantity are reviewed, since they depend on whether an existing mold is used or a new one is built, plus print complexity — there’s no single figure that applies to every product.
What file format do you need for custom artwork?
Vector artwork — AI, EPS, or vector PDF — reproduces most cleanly for embossing, printing, and laser marking. Raster files (JPG, PNG) can limit fine detail once scaled to tooling size.
