Aluminum

Resists corrosion and stays stable against moisture, making it the default for creams, balms, and oil-based fills. The trade-off is a higher per-unit cost than tinplate.

Custom Decoration and Tooling Options

DOLYPACK can decorate stock tin shapes or develop containers around a new custom die. Available options include embossing and debossing, laser marking, screen or full-color printing, labels, and finishes such as matte, glossy, frosted, metallic, lacquered, and anodized surfaces for aluminum.

Embossing results depend on the artwork, metal gauge, panel shape, lid or body construction, and seam placement. Bold logos and lettering usually reproduce more clearly than fine detail. For custom relief work, vector artwork in AI, EPS, or vector PDF format helps the tooling team check the design before the die is cut.

What is the difference between cans and tins?
Tins are typically lidded, reusable containers — screw-top, hinge-top, or slip-lid — meant to be opened and closed repeatedly. Cans are usually sealed at the factory for a single opening, like a beverage or food can. Buyers choose tins when reusability and shelf presence matter, and cans when a permanent seal is the priority.
Where can I find tins for sale?
Stock formats such as candle jars, cosmetic jars, and food tins are available in standard sizes and finishes. Brands that need a specific size, material, or decoration not covered by a stock mold can request custom development instead, starting from a sketch or reference sample.
What are those tin boxes called?
Common formats include screw-top tins, hinge-top tins, slide or slip-lid tins, and square three-piece tins. The name usually describes the closure — a "slide tin" opens by sliding the inner tray out of an outer sleeve, while a "hinge-top" has a lid attached on one side.
