2 oz Tin Dimensions & Capacity
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Fill volume | 60 ml (2 oz), fixed |
| Diameter / height | Set per tooling and lid style |
| Metal gauge | Selected per body/lid construction |
| Material | Aluminum or tinplate |
This capacity sits toward the small end of DOLYPACK’s aluminum range, which spans 5 ml to 6,000 ml. Key details include:
- Dimensions and wall gauge: Confirmed at the sampling stage because tooling and finish selection affect final tolerances.
- Fill weight: Depends on what’s inside; a dense cream or wax reads heavier than a loose powder in the same 60 ml body.
- Smaller format: If 2 oz is more than a travel or trial SKU needs, 1 oz metal tins offer the next size down.
Tinplate vs. Aluminum
Material choice depends on the fill and handling needs:
Tinplate
Adds rigidity for denser fills and small parts and holds screen printing well, but needs a lining to resist corrosion.
Aluminum
Stays lighter for shipping and resists moisture and oxidation on its own, though it dents more easily under rough handling.
Confirm lining needs against your formula when you request a quote.
Lid & Finish Options
- Screw-top lids
Thread down and resist loosening in transit, suited to balms, powders, and semi-solid fills. See the screw-top closure guide for the mechanics.
- Slip-cover lids
Press-fit for quick, one-handed access, common on candle testers and retail samples.
- Finishes
Matte, glossy, metallic, or anodized.
- Body shapes
Round is the default. Choose rectangular tin boxes or square tin boxes for a different footprint.
Customization & Branding
Self-adhesive labels, screen printing, laser marking, and emboss/deboss all carry no minimum order at 2 oz. Full-color printing or a custom body color needs a 5,000-unit run. Vector artwork (AI, EPS, or vector PDF) keeps bold shapes crisp — the small surface area of a 60 ml body favors simple logos and block type over fine line detail.

MOQ scales with decoration: no minimum for label, screen print, laser mark, or emboss/deboss; 5,000 units once you move to full-color printing or a custom body color. DOLYPACK confirms your exact MOQ and production timing after reviewing the tin, decoration, artwork, tooling, and sample route.
